Team claims first place in Lexington Junior League horse show

Ayrshire Farm captured the Four in Hand blue with its team of Shire Horses at the Lexington Junior League Charity Horse Show, held in Lexington, Ky., July 10-15. Led by Coachman Paul Maye, it was the team’s debut appearance at the event, renowned for being the world’s largest outdoor American Saddlebred show. The victory capped an exciting few days for the team in the Bluegrass State after participating in BreyerFest — a celebration of Breyer models and the real horses that inspired them. Ayrshire’s stable won over throngs of adoring fans, including one young girl who forged a special bond with Shire Anisette (read more). Adding to other recent victories, Ayrshire Farm also claimed Reserve Champion in the Open Pleasure Driving Championship at the Bonnie Blue Horse Show, held in Lexington, Virginia, May 10-13. Ayrshire Farm is currently home to 20 Shires, the largest of the heavy horse breeds, who compete in draught horse shows and carriage driving shows throughout the year.
